Network Access control (NAC) defines set of policies that are used to evaluate the security posture of endpoints that wants to join the network. End point can be PC, server, PDA, IP phone & printer etc. Based on security posture of endpoints it can be given unrestricted access – if it meets the organization security requirements
Device that fails to comply with defined security policy can be quarantine where auto remediation ensues. Alternatively, devices can be denied access to the network all together, or they can be assigned VLAN with limited access to network
